Moving back over to tiny muffins instead, so I hope you all still have me on your list.

If not, DO IT! :) See you there.

(1) Silly Triumph

+

(1) Sad Failure

Sam just picked up the floofy-tailed Littlest Pet Shop skunk for me during his lunch break. We have been trying to track down this little bugger for weeks! We haven't decided yet if it's male or female. Sam votes "gay boy."

We were semi-excited about a listing that I found for a teeny adorable 1-bedroom house for rent, 3 miles from his work. The rent was only $100 more than we're paying now. It had a deck, a porch, a yard, a fireplace, a tiny curved staircase, hardwood floors. I think we were willing to break our lease, pack up our shit, and go.
But, it's been rented already.

Let's talk groceries.

I have decided that I like Whole Foods more than Traders Joes. I am sorry Trader Joes! TJs just doesn't cater to my vegan needs.

We hauled back:

So Delicious "yogurt"
unsweetened Silk (the way I love it)
chai tea Silk
Yves "salami" slices
Yves "bologna" slices
Yves "good dogs"
Tofurkey slices
Vegan american "cheese" slices
baby portobellos
organic tofu
bananas
Puffins
local corn

Tribe's hummus is way too salty and spicy. 125mg of sodium per serving, compared to 50mg in Joseph's. Fuck this, I'm buying a food processor and making my own.

Also, we discovered that 90% of the salad bar there is vegan. It's amazing. We just never thought to check. Why are we so stupid?

(It looks sort of gross, that you can see my shoulder blades and the snap of my bra.)

Marblehead, MA. *sigh* What a cute fucking town. I mean, really. We couldn't stay long, though, because the thunderstorm was moving in. It's the sort of place you'd buy a summer home if you were theoretically loaded. Every home had a little hand-carved plaque that noted the date it was built (1700's) and who lived there (blacksmith, shipmaster, etc.)

It also smells like fish there. REALLY REALLY fishy.

Anyways - we killed the cockroach! I think. We killed a cockroach. I'm hoping that's the end of that.

I don't know why, but I've been in this funk. I've been a complete homebody. I've stopped going to Urban Renewals (maybe because I hate bringing home $2 shit and then taking it right back) and I've just been so drowsy by the afternoon.

Occasionally I have this mini panic attack where I HATE my things and I want them all gone. I think of how liberating it would be to sell everything I own. Then I realize I'd probably be sad a week later.

Getting rid of all of my clothes and buying a few t-shirts. I am sick of fashion - as if I was ever into it or remotely fashionable.

We went to Marblehead and Swampscott yesterday. Marblehead is probably the most amazing town I've ever been to. I think it's twice as cute as Salem, really. Swampscott was much more residential. It has a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's right next door to each other.

After sitting in a park overlooking the ocean, we ate an array of vegan dishes from the Whole Foods salad bar - including falafel, mock egg salad, pad tai, dumplings, and curry tofu. That's the life.

I just spotted my first cockroach in our kitchen. I am freaking out. Pigeons I do not mind. Rats I do not mind. But, cockroaches? FUCK THAT.

I am compiling a list of towns that we can move to that are within reasonable driving distance to Boston and easy commute to Sam's job in Burlington - north of Boston.

We may decide that we no longer want to live in the city. We know for sure that we don't want to live in Boston for our entire lives - probably not even Massachusetts. Even though it's BEAUTIFUL, it's very populated and not so plentiful on the farmhouse of my dreams.

Either way, we are stuck here for as long as Sam has his current job.

Marblehead
Newburyport
Concord
Lexington
Salem

Northampton. Well, it's way too far from Burlington, but I want to check it out. Who knows, maybe I'll fall in love with it and want to buy a house there.

I'm just sick of living in a 300-square foot studio in Allston for a little less than what we could be paying for a huge beautiful 2-bedroom in a cute seaside town.

The rich "scientist" dude kidnapping his daughter has now made it from our local news to national headlines. Awesome.

If you haven't heard, this guy has "aliases," no social security number, confusion over what school he ACTUALLY went to if any, no real close friends, but a total socialite and pal to rich people. SO WEIRD.

At first we thought this was sort of amazing. Then I realized that it's NOT a movie - and that he has serious mental issues if he's spent his entire life lying to everybody around him. Realistically he is not taking this opportunity to fight injustice in the shadows of the night.

So, occasionally after our dinner show-watching, we'll flip to the Dr. Phil rerun at 8, because it's hilarious. Two nights ago there was a lady on with her sex-addict husband, right? Again last night it's the same lady, but what the fuck, there is talk of her husband confiding in her that he has raped and murdered multiple women.

They are coming back on the show today and from the preview, it would appear that this man is about to confess to rape and murder on FUCKING DR. PHIL. Maybe I'm out of touch with daytime talk shows... but that seems insane!

I've been taking these vegan iron supplements that my mom sent me, but it's tricky! Apparently for somebody as anemic as I am, you have to pay attention to "iron absorption enhancers" and "iron absorption inhibitors." The inhibitors include whole grains, soy products, and leafy greens like spinach. Awesome, that's my entire diet. :( So, I've been doubling my fruit intake which isn't cheap.

Fuck... I need more peaches and plums.

Happy Birthday, Beatrix Potter!

(I typed that "Pooter" the first time.)

My cat Ducky, who lives in Michigan with Tyler, is pretty sick. It doesn't sound good, just knowing how fragile cats are, so I'm hoping his vet appointment at 3:00 goes well. I just don't think I could handle "another" this soon.

Sam has failed to mention to me for the past SEVERAL MONTHS that the reason I haven't been able to access our media (years of music and photos) is because the hard drive died.

Yeah. I'm a little stressed about that.

To ease the cravings, I bought a Tofutti pizza and we watched the Spongebob Squarepants movie. It was a lazy Sunday. A lot of rain and nothing to do - a perfect day for lame movies and taking naps together.

The much anticipated stock photos of Miss Sally Rice. Sadly, I am disappointed. She is a prettier Enchanted Petal with a hair trim. I think her hair would drive me insane. I was really hoping she wouldn't have the unmanageable hair and mullet bangs, but sure enough.

Though, I may buy her to make a hybrid, being that her face is gorgeous and all.

Still dealing with time-wasters and my PMS, I'm sure, is not helping. I wish that people would learn NOT to ask about items unless they actually want to buy them. PLEASE don't even TALK to me unless you are sure you want to buy it.

I'm going to end up having to throw a bunch of crap up on eBay. And I hate that.

And let the PMS cravings begin. :(

white spinach pizza
pumpkin kibby
donuts
cashews
peanut butter cups
fettuccine alfredo
giant pancakes still gooey inside (and I can do that because mine are without eggs)

Sadly eating a peach...

I have to say, I am quite proud of my cat. In addition to being the softest, sweetest, prettiest, most tolerant, and most intelligent cat ever... she is completely fearless to thunderstorms. It is rumbling and she is sitting on the windowsill like "hey what's up nothing at all."

Has anyone watched Survivorman? It's Canadian, so Caroline that means you! Every time he skins a little mammal and makes his grand speech about HATING IT SO MUCH, I just can't take this guy seriously.

It is really funny. I know that I've "grown up" when I am cleaning the dishes, sweeping, and tidying up first thing in the morning, every morning, even though I am starving and itching to check my email. I know it needs to be done. No one else is going to do it. I just do it.

We are going to see Mates of State just down the street. Finally.

The Dark Knight was awesome. The IMAX in Reading, MA is awesome.

Don't tell Sam, but I am a penguin-napper.

We are going to see The Dark Night at 10am, which means we're leaving at 9am, which means I've been up since 5am.

I am hungry and tired and don't feel like eating theater food. Poo. I think I'll make my own popcorn here and take it there - because I hate theater popcorn. *shutter*

Oh, and this is our first time going to an IMAX theater. Should I be really excited?

Holy groceries. o_o

soy milk
tomatoes
red onion
sushi rice
blueberries
peaches (10!)
apples
bananas
pluots? (never had and they were on sale - I'll try anything once)
energy bars
hummus
wheat bread
vanilla Toffuti Cuties
Puffins (my second favorite cereal)

and Sam's unhealthy food that I don't pay attention to.

I think we spent around $70 total. ;_; It is hard to believe that we used to spend only $30 a month on groceries, for both of us. Oh the shit we've been through in three years' time.

I am so sick of time-wasters. And they range from the My Little Pony community to the Pullip community to the Blythe community. YES, PLEASE, email me asking for a shipping quote on an item, don't respond, then eventually respond to say "I better save my money, I have x, y, and z to pay for." They make a hobby of wasting people's time, I just know it.

I hate my hair. I constantly feel the need to dye it, but never even like the color. My hair dresser, Pat, calls me "the chameleon" because apparently I look good in every color, but I'm still always unsatisfied.

bleach blonde
natural blonde
blonde with highlights
strawberry blonde
natural red
deep red
auburn
burgundy
deep burgundy
burgundy brown
light brown
dark brown
dark brown with highlights
dark brown with lowlights
really dark brown
blue back

I've had them all and I hate them all.

Whaaat the fuuuck.

I sincerely thought today was Tuesday. Am I losing gaps of time? Is everyone playing a joke on me?

I am so confused. I don't like this.

I thought there was a baby crying at the end of the hall.

No, it's just the weird Korean (assumedly) family that is constantly putting their shit in the hallway, leaving their door open, and cooking REALLY smelly meat.

When I was little, I had heard that putting moss and milk in a blender then pouring the mixture in sidewalk cracks would make moss grow there. I tried it and I don't think it worked.

So, I'm a boring fucking person. Accept it, because I do.

If I were 7-10 years old again, I'd be...

watching Rugrats.
using a slip-n-slide as a sled on the biggest hill I can find.
catching bugs and putting them in my dollhouse.
trying to grow fruit like watermelon in northern Michigan.
staying up late to spot a UFO.
picking blackberries and making really gross jam.
trying to raise tadpoles from the swamp, and they always die.
playing flashlight tag and being scared shitless.
drawing boring still-life, like plants.

If I were 13-18 years old again, I'd be...

playing roller tennis and named T-Bone Malone.
seeing where the woods go.
playing Scattergories every night.
morel mushroom hunting.
swinging even though it makes me sick.
buying silly shit like Skip-Its.
painting pictures for moms.
making vegan enchiladas and nachos every night and gaining 20 pounds.

I don't think I'm cut out to be a grownup, let alone a grownup in an exciting city.
